SDG Policy Mapping: the 2025 update is there!

The SDG Policy Mapping dataset has been updated. It now includes initiatives from the current European Commission period, with policy documents retrieved from Eur-Lex up to July 2025.

Users can filter the mapping by category – legal acts (such as directives, regulations or recommendations) or preparatory documents (such as communications and staff working documents) – and by Commission period. Beyond the 6th (2015-2019) and 7th (2019-2024) Commissions, the tool now covers initiatives from the 8th Commission (2024-2029).

Stakeholder consultation for the future of the 'local' EU Green Deal

The EU Green Deal (EGD) is a cornerstone in advancing climate neutrality by 2050 and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the EU. However, several targets directly involve Local and Regional Authorities (LRAs) for their actual implementation. As such, LRAs are forerunners in the implementation of EGD policies.

Localising the Agenda2030: the JRC and 10 pilot regions building a common framework for monitoring SDGs in EU regions

According to the UN Sustainable Development Solution Network (SDSN, 2015) “an estimated 65% of the 169 targets behind the 17 SDGs will not be reached without engagement of local and regional governments”.

With only 15% of the Targets on track globally at the mid-point towards 2030 (SDGs Summit, 2023), it is even more crucial that all governmental and territorial levels step in, and contribute in a coordinated effort to the achievement of the SDGs and the 2030 Agenda.

KnowSDGs platform: the 2023 revamp!

Launched on 2018, the KnowSDGs Platform has greatly been contributing to the SDGs knowledge sharing and mainstreaming. Its tools, developed by the Joint Research Centre, are increasingly used by policymakers, stakeholders and researchers for better understanding how the 2030 Agenda works and might contribute to develop coordinated and coherent approaches for a successful implementation of the global Goals.
